six months in
My wife wanted the top of the line gaming computer and then did not have time to play. We decided to see if we could help pay off the computer by putting it to work when we were not using it.

what you need
The check is strict, and that is the product working: a pass means your hardware holds AAA quality, so the network can send you its heaviest sessions. Free, a few minutes.
- a desktop GPU An NVIDIA RTX desktop card. The card decides how many sessions run at once.
- a wired connection Ethernet, not wifi, with at least 20 Mbps of measured upload. Sessions are real time, so a stable uplink matters.
- the free rigcheck It tells you in a few minutes whether your rig qualifies and how many streams it holds.
how we get to that number
what a licence is
A licence covers one Light (720p) session; a Standard (1080p) stream uses two, so the NANO's two licences run one Standard stream. How many streams your card holds at once is what the rig check measures.
where the amount comes from
One stream earns roughly ~$53 a month at the Standard session rate, at the network's 50% utilization target. Pay is set in dollars, not by the token price. A quiet region earns less.
what is not in it
Electricity. Expect roughly ~$12 a month in Europe on top, less in the US and in emerging markets, counting idle power while the node waits and more while it serves.
and what XP does
XP is a non-transferable contribution score that will weight token-holder votes. Sessions go to the nearest node that qualifies and has free capacity, so downtime costs you only the sessions of that day.

what a month on two nodes looks likepeople who run one
It has been installed for more than six months now and I am impressed. Set up was fairly easy, but if you are not a tech person you might need a little time to figure things out. Their tech support was great. I have been with them through a couple of updates and no real issues as far as I can tell. I have been impressed with the device and the monthly payments. Highly recommend if you have a gaming computer that is not under constant use.

questions you should ask
what does it cost me in power?
Idle nodes draw power, serving ones more. A month at the network's 50% utilization target costs roughly ~$12 in Europe, less in the US and in emerging markets. Earnings estimates here do not deduct it.
what happens when my PC is off?
Nothing bad. Sessions go to the next qualifying node and you serve fewer that day. Being online when players near you are playing means more sessions routed your way.
can I still use my PC?
Yes, but not at once. Serving boots your PC from the NANO into YOM Node OS and takes the GPU. Reboot into Windows and everything is as you left it: the NANO never writes to your internal disk.
do I need to change anything in my BIOS?
Once. Set the NANO as the first boot device and, on most boards, check that TPM 2.0 is enabled; support tells you whether your board needs Secure Boot changed. Support walks you through it.
can anyone see my files?
No. The node boots a read-only system from the NANO's own encrypted drive, which unlocks only through YOM's key service, and never mounts your internal drive. Each session runs in its own clean container, discarded at close.
what if I want to stop?
Reboot into your own operating system and unplug the NANO. There is no lock-in, no minimum term and no penalty. Your licences and your XP stay on your account if you plug back in later.
how do I get paid?
Per session served: a fixed share of the session fee, set in dollars and paid in $YOM through the operator app. The app handles your payout account and payouts; you only touch crypto when you choose to move your tokens.
what is $YOM actually worth?
Your payout is set per session in dollars and paid in $YOM. If the token price moves, the token amount recalibrates; what a session earns you does not. Dollar figures on this page come from the network model.
